Today's music class was funny. We had this question and answer quiz. This time, the one who asks is not Mr.Sadrakh but Mr.John(guitar teacher) and Mr.Hary (woodwind teacher). The ones that anwer the question more than % seconds must stand up and then later given another question. the question is about scales, sharps, chords, triads and flats. And the one who answers the wrong answer should also stand. The ones that tells the answer also must stand. That made it funny. We didn't have any instrument class. Only theory quiz all along.

Today we attend the usual music class. we checked one by one attendance wether we brought complete resource or not. (student journal, music book, music folder, pencilcase and instrument). After the theory class, we move to our normal instrument classes.

Today we have no instrument class at all. We learnt about the major scale, sharps and flats for 2 sessions. It is because we are going to have a test on theory. That sounds a bit scary for me because i'm not good at this. So i tried to listen all along for 2 sessions.

Today is re-test day. I felt nervous at first. I thought I would shake in fear again. I thought I will make the same mistakes as I did before. I don't want that to happen of course. I played it. I shaked in fear again. But this time, it wasn't that bad. As i began to play a bit longer, I don't shake anymore. This time, it's way BETTER. And i am proud of it. I'm glad i did the re-test. It was worth it. After the re-test, we did a lot of assesement reflections and also receive our scores. I got 9/10 for the pentatonic melody playing. I am soooo happy!!!!

today we did the pentatonic playing assement. most of us are not prepared. Some didn't practice and also did bad. Almost everyone did bad. i did bad. It's not because i was not prepared. I was shaking in fear. FEAR of doing bad. I shiver as I play. I don't know why. And that shiver make the melody go bad. Especially when the instrument is violin. When you play each string, it obviousky sound like you are shaking. I did bad. There are a few who did bad too. Mr.Sadrakh didn't really recommend me to re-test the next day but then i WANT to re-test. Many also want to re-test. I felt relief after that. Thank you mr.Sadrakh for giving me re-test!!!!!

4th of november...

Today, an unusual thing happened!!! we had a quiz in music class!!! before having the quiz, Mr.sadrakh told us first the new lesson, it's about sharps and flats. It was a hard thing for me because i had to remember all the sharps and flats of each major scale. I did my best on the quiz and I think i make less mistakes. I hope so... > < tomorrow is our day to actually perform our pentatonic piece. awwww.... wish me luck... i'm so scared... well, of course, practice makes perfect right?

I entered music class early to tell mr.Sadrakh that I couldnt insert the lyrics and could'nt send the file to him through email. Some of the students, my classmates, also experience the same thing, they could'nt insert the lyrics too!!! sp they brought their usb with them and do it there. Mr.Herry thought them how to do it. He also helped me do it. Thanks to him!!! I just need to print it at home and submit it tomorrow!!!! thank you Mr.Herry for helping me and Mr.sadrakh for giving me extended deadline on submitting the piece!!!!

Today, Mr.sadrakh check us one by one wether we installed the finale software already or not. somr of them did and some didn't. some brought their usb with them and ask Mr.Al to safe the software in their usbs. So after school, my mom send my usb to school and then gave it to me. I rushed to the music room and Mr.Al save the software in my usb. That night, my dad help me install it. we did it and then i started writing my composition. I didn't insert the lyrics because there's problem doing it. And when i wanted to open my binusian mail to send the file to Mr.sadrakh, i cant open the mail website!!!! Better than nothing, I print the sheet without lyrics as a proove that i have did my best.

Today we jot down our lyrics to the assesement paper. And as usual, do the daily checking attendance and also wether we bring complete resources.Before moving to our instrument class, mr. Herry (head of music department) thought us again about the installation of the finale software that we have to install.

22 october

Today we copy-paste our melody into an assesement paper and write the reflection of our pentatonic melody composition. In the refelction, we should write about our feelings after we created the melody and our experience while doing it. After thta, we had an assesement on singing the asian song. I was partner with angelica, good thing. we sang the song "little silver moon boat". we did it quite well. but with a soft voice.

Today we did'nt learn the japanese song as I expected. We sang the little silver moon boat. And then we had an assesement on singing "gundul gundul pacul". i was partner with josh. I sang it quite well and we did a good job. I'm proud of it!!!!

I submitted the song, !6 bars. Mission accomplished!!! Today, we learnt how to sing asian song. there is a japanese and a chinese song. We learnt the chinese folk song first. It was titled "little moon boat" (if i'm not mistaken). Mr.Sadrakh sang it very funnily! hahaha.... hoping to learn the japanese song tomorrow!!!

We went to the music class, and then mr sadrakh checked our homeworks, wether we did it already or not. Again, i did. lucky me! Today, we learnt about chords. I can memorise it easily because i know the trick. You just have to know the first note and then take a gap and another. Before moving to our respective classrooms for instrument class, we were given a big task to do.... it was... making a song, 16 bars with the pentatonic note and label the chords in each bar... aaaaaaa ! It's going to be hard!!!!

After the long holiday, we start school again and then had our music lesson. the first thing that we did was... checking wether everybody had finish their music developmental workbook or not. I did, good thing. after that, we learnt a new lesson " pentatonic scale ". There is 2 types, i like the first one better. because it's easier. After that, we move to our respective instrument class.

DO NOT FORGET TO DO THE BLOG!!!!

This is the day when Mr.Sadrakh and Mr. Herry reminded us about the BLOG, which is THIS BLOG. After theory class, we went to instruments class. As usual, Mr.sadrakh tuned our violins and then asked us to play one by one. The class ends and we head to the next class that we are suppose to have.

PRESENT A PIECE!!!

As I entered the music room, i prepared my violin and knew that this was the day of reflecting and showing everything that we have learnt to play on our instruments. I picked the song that i can do best the most and it was "TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR". When it was my turn, my heart starts to beat and then i felt that i was nervous! dag dig dug... it was beating! As Mr.Sadrakh played the piano, I move my bow softly and started to play. I really did my best. I have practiced hard for this day and i don't want to fail. Mr.Sadrakh stopped playing and the song ends. I did it! i present it well! And I was proud of myself. After the others play, Mr Sadrakh announced the scores for the powerpoint presentation and yes! Our score is GOOD! I knew that we did our best! We did it!!!! Mr. Rudy Wisnu, the brother of Mr.Hary Wisnu, teacher of flute played the Trumpet and the French Horn. I was amazed because I know that playing an instrument that requires blowing is a hard thing to do. We have to control our breath and stuff. I was amazed!!!!

THE CHANCE GIVEN... & OUR 2ND TASK

As I said, they group who had problems with their powerpoint were given another chance. this is the day when they presented the powerpoint. All of the groups did re-do their powerpoint presentation and present it smoothly except for the "PAPUA" group. So that day we watche dthe groups that were given another chance and they did it quite well. Mr.Sadrakh and Mr.Herry then annouced that we have to print every slide of the powerpoint and make it into a booklet. Also that we have to prepare a piece that we should play on the next meeting. One more thing, they also informed us about the 2nd task which is to make THIS BLOG. At first I thought that i will never remember all the things that we did but then I try to remember some things, I did my best! I finally managed to make this blog although it is not exactly accurate.

PRESENTATION DAY>>>>

Finally it is the day when we present our powerpoint presentation. Only SUNDA group and JAVA group were prepared. While the other group have problems. Every group have different problems and we were all lucky to be the survivors that can continue the presentation. We did it smoothly and ended up wonderfully. We are all proud of our own works and felt that we did a good job. The groups that have problems with their powerpoint were given another chance to present it were given time until the next meeting to re-do their powerpoints. We didn'nt have any intrument class that day because there is no time.

POWERPOINT APPOINTMENT....

As planned, we all went to Edward's house and do the powerpoint. We divided the task and try to do it as fast as possible so that it can be quickly done. So Kevin and Tristan search the information and the attachments like the videos and stuff. I get to summarize some of the informations and then Edward will just type what I say. Everyone in the group give on another ideas to make the powerpoint better and better!!! We then finished the powerpoint and went home. Such a long day! (sigh)

A TASK GIVEN....

After quite a few days, a task was given by Mr. Sadrakh and Mr.Herry, the head of the music department. Mr. Sadrakh divided us into 5 groups, and each group is made out of 5 students. I was one group with Tristan, Edward, Kevin and Devina. We are asked to make a powerpoint presentation about the traditional music and instrument of the provinces in Indonesia. And we got..... SUNDA!!! The powerpoint is suppose to be at least 10 slides maybe more if possible. So then we planned the date, day and time of when we are going to meet to do our powerpoint. we then decided that we should go to Edward's hpuse because it is the nearest one to the school. His house is at permata hijau.

THE REST FEW DAYS

Well... for the rest of the days in music class, we had the usual things, checking the attendance and also checking the resources that are suppose to be brought and of course, we had instrument classes. In violin class, the first song I learnt is "twinkle twinkle little star". I was happy to be able to play the song although it's a bit childish, it's quite good for a beginner. The second song was "lightly row". At first it was hard and difficult for me but then I managed to be able to play it because of the effort that i put on and of course, practicing made it better! I am so happy i can do it!

THIRD DAY

Mr.Sadrakh checked our attendance and sign our major scales homework. Then we were given a new song, "APUSE". He then thought us how to sing it. The melody of the song is similar to the song "GARUDA DI DADAKU". I like the song better than O INANI KE KE. Then we had a singing perfomance straight away. i was one group with Joshua and Tristan again. Before going to our instrument classes, Mr.Sadrakh gave us another homework about major scale.

SECOND DAY....

Here comes the second day, first was our music theory session, we sang the song O INANI KE KE again and then had a perfomance on it. Mr.Sadrakh, our music theory teacher called us three by three based on the registration number and then asked us to perform singing the song. So, I was one group with Joshua and Tristan. We did a good job and was proud of it. We were given homework of major scale. After that, we all move to our respective instrument classes. In the instrument class, violin, Mr. Sadrakh thought the beginners, which is me, Devina and Edward about the violin and its strings. He thought us all the basic things we have to know about the violin. He also showed us the way to hold the bow, and tell us to practice holding it with a pencil because we not yet have a violin.

THE FIRST DAY OF MUSIC CLASS

It is the first day of music class in grade 6, we started choosing the instruments that we want to play for the semester. We were all given a sheet of paper where there is the choices of instruments that is available. There is piano, guitar, violin and flute. At first i picked guitar but then changed to violin. We then sang the song "O-INANI KE KE". Then went to our instrument class. I went to guitar class because at that time, I haven't change into violin and Mr.John is absent so, Ms.Melvina thought us.
